Alex is the VP of Business Development and Business Manager of STAR since 2014. He is responsible for new client business development and manages a portfolio of strategic manufacturers/supplier accounts.  He has more than 12 years in grocery category management.

He also worked for Excel Grocery Distribution as a Buyer and private label Development Manager specializing in key hispanic brands for La Michoacana Meat Market, the largest "Carnicería" grocery chain in the United States with over 100 locations in 23 markets, primarily in Texas.  Previously, Alex was a buyer at Goya Foods and earlier in his career he developed a specialization in fleet working as Goya's Transportation Manager and overseeing the commercial department with coverage across five states.

Alex is a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a graduate from Lone Star College.  His tremendous leadership skills and innovative strategies help STAR achieve goals year after year.
